Hardware: Parts manufactured from steel or non-ferrous metals. Processing methods include cold/hot stamping, extrusion, rolling, welding, machining, and other techniques; the definition is quite broad.
Stamped parts: The most common type of hardware component. These are formed into specific shapes at room temperature by using a press to apply force to sheet materials-such as steel or non-ferrous metals-against a mold (die).
Examples include electronic components, automotive parts, decorative materials, and more. The term "stamped parts" generally refers to cold-stamped components. For instance, if you want to turn an iron sheet into a fast-food tray, you first design a mold with a working surface shaped like the tray; pressing the iron sheet against this mold transforms it into the desired tray. This process-directly stamping the metal material using a mold-is known as cold stamping.
