In metal stamping, the die is a critical component. The quality and performance of the die directly impact production efficiency and product quality; therefore, proper maintenance and care are essential. Below, a metal stamping manufacturer outlines key steps for maintaining and servicing stamping dies.
I. Daily Die Maintenance
1. Die Cleaning
The die must be cleaned daily after production concludes to remove surface dirt and residues-including, but not limited to, metal chips, oil, and dust. Exercise caution during cleaning to avoid compromising the die's precision or surface quality.
2. Die Lubrication
During the stamping process, the die is subjected to significant pressure and friction. Regular lubrication is necessary to minimize wear and extend the die's service life. Typically, lubricant is applied to the sliding parts of the die to reduce friction during operation.
3. Inspection of Fasteners
Periodically check the die's fasteners for looseness and tighten them promptly if any are found to be loose. This prevents a loss of precision or damage to the die caused by loose fasteners.
